This English version of Ao Oni 3.0 is a reconstruction of an already-existing and lost translation from 2010.
While there are many inaccuracies (Takeshi's name being Andrew),
this translation is considered to be the first and oldest translation of Version 3.0 to exist.

This translated version was shown off in a four-part playthrough uploaded by theloafingone (the translator)
while his friend, going under the name ChocolateThunder, was playing the game.
Unfortunately since only the latter half of the game was recorded, with the former half completely missing,
the reconstructed version of the character lines were translated from Japanese to English while retaining
the quirks of what existed of the original translation.

Since this translation is fairly old and there have been many advancements as to how Ao Oni translations are handled,
I have provided four different options to choose from.

---WITH ORIGINAL JAPANESE FONTS---

1. The True Experience
You must use Japanese locale to play the game with the correct font.
Takeshi's name will be Andrew, like in the playthrough (except for in the menu).

2. The Takeshi Experience
You must use Japanese locale to play the game with the correct font.
Takeshi's name will be kept as-is.

---WITH ENGLISH-FRIENDLY FONTS---

3. The Alternative Experience
You don't need to use Japanese locale.
Instead, an English-friendly font will be used, the text will display faster, and it's possible to skip text using Q.
Takeshi's name will be Andrew, like in the playthrough (except for in the menu).

4. The Pure Experience
You don't need to use Japanese locale.
Instead, an English-friendly font will be used, the text will display faster, and it's possible to skip text using Q.
Takeshi's name will be kept as-is.

If you want to check out the original version from 2010,
the video playthrough is still up, but the download link is forever dead.
Until this version can be reuploaded somewhere, it is still partially lost media.

Despite it being a little self-indulgent,
if you're curious as to how accurate this translation is compared to the translations of today,
you can check out my page (AdPro's Game Translations) on Ao Oni.
I have translated all versions (1.1, 3.0, 4.2, 5.2, 6.03, and 6.23) from Japanese to English
as well as all of noprops' other RPG Maker games.
